What is good about this country

Despite our various political affiliations and views this has already been a truly historic election season. The Democratic nominee is an African American. The close second for the Democratic nomination was a woman. Lastly, from what I have read and heard Joe Lieberman a Jew is still in the running for the veep stakes and has been given a long hard look by McCain. Ultimately though I feel that because of Lieberman's Democratic roots and the fact it would not be looked upon favorably by the staunch conservatives this will not occur. Nonetheless this is all remarkable and indicative of how far this country has come.

Stop Signs

It drives me nuts when the guy at an intersection is on the side where there is no stop sign and he Stops. Because I am stopped does not mean you need to stop. Do you think that they forgot to put a stop sign where you are? Or are you just an idiot? Or both? I say both. Please let this serve as a public service announcement.

Assholes who throw their cigarette butts out of the car (or anywhere else for that matter) while driving. What you don't want to dirty your ash tray? Don't want your car to smell like crap. Idiots- I really hate any type of littering no matter how small. I am for sure not Mr. Green, but we try here. A few months back we started to religiously recycle- It is really amazing how much can go into the Brown Bin. I guess every little bit helps. I will be able to sleep at night when we purchase another SUV.

Pop messing with Nigerian Con Artist

I know this is long, but it is very amusing. My grandfather lately has taken to messing with Internet con artist. They are usually from Nigeria. Typically they say they have a bank account with funds, either from a long lost relative or some other source that they want to provide to you. The catch is you need to send them some money so that they can process the whole thing. The first email is in the bottom. I think it is hilarious, but maybe that is because I am a little twisted like pop. Enjoy


Dear Mrs. Johnson, I am sorry for the delay, but can Yorkie (I have already decided to name him Yorkie) Isn't that a great name for him?? Will he be able to survive the climate in Africa until than? Would it be possible for you to get the balance so we would not have to wait? I have tried desperately to get the other $100.00. I really have nothing worthwhile to sell. If you can't wait, Yorkies health should be the first consideration, but I only have the $100,00 and won't have the rest until September 12th. You will have to decide what to do. what's best for Yorkie. I am humbled and depressed, but what can I do. I have already made a mental attraction to little Yorkie.

door to door salesman

If you really had such an excellent product would you need to go door to door to sell it? Try an infomercial? The dudes wearing white shirts and clip on ties were stalking the neighborhood today. I need to come up with some act if I am home when they come to the house again. Maybe invite them in for a drink? Pour my self scotch and have a lively discussion? I assume they were Mormons. I could tell them about their sinner UPS counter part. Dirty bastard. May be I will just let Hannah go after them? Do Mormons carry mace? What actually works pretty well is the "I am a Jew" while pointing at the mezzuzah.

The Good Stuff

I can be a negative person. I know that. So much good around me I should also touch on that once in a while, hence the name change of the blog. Posting about the good may also help to temper my negativity? On the pads pre game show they have ups and downs every day. When time is short maybe this is the way to go. For instance, Up: starting to get very excited about my brother and peps wedding, Down: Peavy blows the game after being spotted a 4 run lead in the first.

The Padres

What a joke. They have traded away future Hall of Famer Greg Maddux. He was just about the only reason to watch that lousy team, besides peavy. I don't remember the last time I was so disinterested in baseball. Good thing football is right around the corner.

On another sport note.You know what bugs me? When people give me hard time about being a Trojan Fan. My wife's entire Family went to USC- most importantly my wife. Frankly I really did not pay much attention to College Football prior to meeting my wife. Anyone who questions this can piss off. San Diego State is a Joke and UCSB does not have a team. I guess I just happened to come into the family at a good time.

The Weekend

Spending time with the boy is the best- that was Sat. Really was a wonderful day. Took a long walk from North beach to the pier and back. Like Ted Leightner always says, "Chamber of Commerce day".

Why does my Dog want to eat almost all small dogs? Maybe the little ankle biters have such a resemblance to rabbits? Who knows. If your dog is small enough to carry around in a purse it should not be walked where other dogs are, especially if they have yippity little barks.

The whole dog though brings me to something that I saw about a month ago- that still pisses me off when I think about it.......Assholes who drive around with there dogs in the back of their trucks. It is cruel and dangerous. I saw a dog fall out of a truck while the truck turned in front of me on Pomerado road in San Diego. The dog had on a leash, so instead of just falling out it got dragged for about 10-15 yards. Geniuses. They fortunately saw what happened and stopped the car not to far from where I was at the light. I don't remember the last time I was this pissed. I rolled down my widow- while traffic was waiting behind me (the light turned green) and yelled a number of expletives at the idiots. Made my blood boil. Would you put your kid in the back of your truck moron? I don't think the dog was to badly injured.

Irritant- People who talk during your back swing (religiously). Highlight of the weekend- the little guy at the beach.

One more irritant- putting up a piece of shit tent in the wind at the beach. My wife is right, we should have purchased an easy up.

First thing that comes to mind

The Mormon UPS guy that comes into my office bugs me. First of all he admitted to my wife that he starred at her breast (she used to be in my office). He actually apologized to her, I imagine that was uncomfortable. OK so maybe I hold a grudge against him, but he tries to make small talk with me. Just drop off the shit and Leave, that's what brown can do for me! hmmmm that felt good.

the reason we are here

not here as in earth. Here reading this blog. The mind never stops-sometimes life is strange and in my eyes always needs to be analyzed. Whether it be something that annoys me, drives me insane, or I just find it interesting this blog will serve as my therapy. During a recent drive to Newport with my wife...I began a typical rant about something that pissed me off during the drive. My wife, does not appreciate negativity and unfortunately a great deal that comes out of my mouth can be negative. I don't think I am a "negative" person, maybe I just call it how I see it and I see things differently than most people. Who knows. Anyways during this rant I thought that a blog (My wife recommended a diary or journal) may be a good way to vent or just be used as an avenue for the little voice in my head to express it self. So here it begins. Not even sure if I will share this anyone? Maybe my Grandfather? I think it may upset my wife from time to time, but it also may be less annoying if it is not permeating from my lips.
